এখনো গেল না আঁধার, এখনো রহিল বাধা।এখনো মরণ-ব্রত জীবনে হল না সাধা।
কবে যে দুঃখজ্বালা হবে রে বিজয়মালা,
ঝলিবে অরুণরাগে নিশীথরাতের কাঁদা॥
এখনো নিজেরি ছায়া রচিছে কত যে মায়া।
এখনো কেন যে মিছে চাহিছে কেবলি পিছে,
চকিতে বিজলি আলো চোখেতে লাগাল ধাঁদা॥

Analysis
Ekhono gelo naa aandhaar - A dolorous song airing lamentation that the darkness of ignorance and illusion continues to pervade. Still there are obstacles and impediments. Life loses its significance as the individual is yet to embark on the most vital mission for which he can sacrifice his life. He wonders when will the auspicious moment come as suffering will appear to be the garland of victory. The austerities and struggles still do not appear to be the crowning glories. As of now the individual 's ego continues cast a spell of illusion. The past actions continue to haunt . The individual is dazed by the false glimmer of material splendour. The poet regrets the persistence of Maya.
